- Working Out vs. Training -
You’re drenched in sweat… that session was challenging…you struggled… there were times you wanted to quit, but you pushed through and shattered your personal record. Congratulations, but as you reach for that recovery shake (don’t know what I’m talking about? Don’t worry we will get there) I implore you to ask yourself this one question… “Am I training? Or am I simply working out?” But what exactly is the difference?
However, true “training” involves forethought, a progressive plan aimed towards a quantifiable goal. That training plan will come to be littered with yesterday’s challenges and strengthened by today’s efforts towards your progress. If you are interested in staying the same, stagnant, this section is not for you. However if you have a goal in mind, big or small, male or female, whether it is losing weight, fitting back in the tuxedo you were married in (depending on how long ago that was, you may just want be able to say you fit as opposed to actually wearing that Dumb and Dumber cast-off in public) or even competing in a figure or CrossFit competition, bring it on! Whatever your goal is, progress is vital, you are spending valuable time out of your day, why waste it with anything less than your best effort?
This is where we come in! Helping you transform your valuable gym time from a chain of novelty workouts to a lifestyle with results. The wealth of information on the internet for all things training and nutrition, especially in academic journals and expert reviewed sources, provides more than enough information to instill a change in not only how you look, but how you feel. With that in mind, from my point-of- view, a claim on the internet is only as good as the transparency of the sources from which it came, which is why I will always list the sources at the end of my posts, after all “Knowledge is Power”. - Sir Francis Bacon/ Thomas Hobbes
The ability to control your own growth and transformation towards those goals is ultimately in your hands, we just make it that much easier by bringing those sources to you, letting you attack your next training session with confidence.
We love to hear your feedback, so hit us with your toughest training questions in the comments section and we'll get back to you!
Train Well…. And never look back (unless it’s to see how far you’ve come.)
